Today, we have so many options for the desserts we eat.. However, how many of those desserts are actually healthy? Probably not many. Do they cause you to eat more than necessary? Most likely yes. If your answers are anything like that, here are your favorite desserts in a healthier form.

1. Milkshake

I get it you love milkshakes. You love having them with your Chick- Fil- A sandwich and on top of that you love dipping your fries in them. I get it, but what if instead of a milkshake you drank a smoothie? It would allow you to get your nutrients for the day and it would satisfy your sweet tooth in half of the calories! Plus you can make it whatever flavor you want, so if you want the Orea Milkshake, make it into an Orea Smoothie!

2. Apple Pie

Love pie? Especially the apple pie on your families table during Thanksgiving? Yeah, I know it is amazing, but what if that was substituted for simply the apple crisps. All you would technically be missing was the actual buttery outer layer, which really is not much. Also, you can put some whipped cream on top of it to make it sweeter too! It is what inside that matters when it comes to the ten thousand types of pie.

3. Cupcakes

The muffin looking thing with icing is a simple delectible that is found in houses everywhere with thousands of different sizes. However, it is not the best option to satisfy the sweet tooth because well it contains so much sugar! Think about muffins. They are essentially the same thing, except they do not contain as much sugar. Plus, they are probably cheaper at the grocery store.

4. Ice Cream

"I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream!" Ice cream is an age old tradition for those hot, summer days, and for some even those cold, winter days. However, as much as I hate to say it, it is not the best option. A better alternative for ice cream is frozen yogurt because it has less ingredients, so it is healthier, and it comes with the same toppings!

5.  Donuts

Love donuts, but hate the guilt after? Yeah, I thought so. Donuts are sugary delights that come in various flavors and are eaten at any time, but bagels also come in just as many flavors. Also, bagels allow you to dress them up in a plethora of different ways instead of the standards that donuts have. So next time you want a chocolate donut, instead take a bagel and put Nutella on it!

6. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yes, yes! I know this is your only favorite childhood memory. Do not get me wrong, it is mine too, but it is not the healthiest dessert in the world. The carrot cake oatmeal cookie is healthier. This allows for you to get a healthy snack in before you have to start working again.

7. Brownies

Ahh! Those sugary little chocolate square you dunk into your milk everyday, are not the healthiest thing in the world. Instead, try a lemon bar. It has nutrition in it instead of just sugar, and it allows for you to get the sour taste along with the sweet taste.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
