We all want to be happy and healthy in life. There are so many benefits to eating right and spending time in the gym. From physical appearance to mental health, exercise will really enhance your life. Switching to a healthy lifestyle might seem easy and starting a workout routine is no problem at first, but we all get to that point where we just stall. This is the hardest part of working out: the wait.
Waiting for results, after you start diligently working out, is the hardest part. It takes so long to see and feel the benefits of going to the gym and fixing your diet. I have been going to the gym three or more days a week since the beginning of spring semester. I have only lost six pounds in about two months. I have also drastically changed my diet and I spend at least an hour or more when I'm at the gym. I alway do 30 minutes of cardio or more, and I work on strength training as well. I'm not doing anything wrong, but the wait sometimes makes me feel like I am.
The wait is what always discouraged me from working out in the past. I would put in so much work and never see the results. I'd quit after a month or less, expecting to have seen something change. But it never did. When you mentally feel like you are putting in 100 percent, it can be easy to lose motivation when your physical appearance doesn't start to match your expectations. Part of the problem is having expectations that are too high. Working out for a better body requires a long time. It's a slow process that just needs patience and a little faith.
The results will come if you just hang in there. If you want to make a lifestyle change, you have to give yourself time to get used to working out. You also need to understand that this process takes more time than you think. After about two months, I'm finally starting to see areas of my body shrink. I also have a lot more energy and more patience for the results I'm waiting on. It's great to see small changes happening and I'm going to keep going.
If you want to change, you have to put in the effort. We often say what we want and never act on it. I've been wanting to make this lifestyle change since high school, but this is the time I finally broke down and started physically doing what I knew I needed to. There's no easy way to get started. It won't just happen.
Working out can be rewarding if you can get through the waiting period. I promise results will come if you keep to your plan and get in the gym as much as possible. I'm certainly glad I stuck it out this time cause I know I'll look and feel better in no time.
