My Happy Place
Elmor Teele

There's nothing better than having your toes in the sand.

All of my life I have lived five minutes away from the beach, until I went to college. I have so many wonderful memories of my mom and I spending hours at the beach, doing absolutely nothing, but having so much fun.

There has never been a time in my life where I have disliked the beach. It's where I go to think, read, hangout with friends and family, and dream. This past summer, my mom and I would wake up and be at the beach before 9 am, and we would stay there for hours. Those were the best days.

Good Harbor Beach is the place where I have taken all my secrets, my worries, and my feelings. It's a nonjudgemental place where I can sit, relax, enjoy myself and my day. It's a place where I can drive to and sit at when I'm having a bad day. It's like a friend that never leaves. I don't have easy access to a beach like I use too. However, once I am home, that will once again be my go to spot. I am so thankful I was able to grow up in a town with such a wonderful view and such beautiful beaches.

The feeling of the warm sand in between your toes and the sounds of the waves are just so calming. There is also nothing like the beautiful sunsets.

I highly recommend finding a place that makes you happy; a place where you can go to when you are feeling troubled and when you want to have fun. It is so good to be able to have a place where I can catch my breath and breathe, and take a break from what life has thrown at me. The beach is my happy place because of the sense of peace and relaxation I feel when I am there. I love having a place I can call my Happy Place.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
