Dear John,
Your parents got married three years ago, and I have been waiting to meet you ever since. It kills me to think about the fact that I have to wait until you come to Georgia to meet you in person, but I know that the wait will be worth it.
Even though I haven't gotten a chance to meet you yet, I can already tell that you are going to change our family for the better. Everyone in our family was so excited for your arrival, and the day you came into our lives was a truly happy one. As soon as your Gigi heard that your mom was in labor she rushed off to the airport so that she could meet you on your very first day into the world.
I want you to know that I would have been on the first flight to come see you if I could, but unfortunately, it's really hard to get caught up when you miss class in college. Thankfully I am getting a degree in film, so I am going to make sure that you have good taste in movies. The Breakfast Club, Harry Potter, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off will be just a few of the movies that I am going to show you.
Both of your parents are smart capable human beings and I know that they will have your best interest at heart, but when you get older, and you ever feel like you need to get something off your chest, just know that even though I may not be in the same state as you, I will only be a phone call or a text away. I may not have chosen the same traditional route as your parents, but I still have some insight on things that they have never had to deal with.
I hope you grow up happy and strong, so you can take on the world head first. Life isn't going to be easy. You may be faced with some tough obstacles as you get older, but as long as you are optimistic and have a positive outlook on life then I am sure you are going to make the best out of it just like your mom. She may be hard to keep up with at times, but just know that all she wants is for life to be one big adventure.
