I’m writing this article in honor of a dear friend whose birthday was this past week. I met him a few years ago when one of my best friends told me she had a new boyfriend. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Normally, a friendship with a friend’s boyfriend is nothing unique, just casual. Some talking here and there because they “have” to be together, but this guy changed that for me. He has become the second brother I never had. I live with my good friend, him and another good friend. He has put up with all of us women these past couple of years, and I give him kudos for that. At first when I moved in with my friend and her then-boyfriend, we didn’t hit it off too well. He has a personality I had to get used to, and he had to adjust to my sensitivity. My friend said she didn’t want to choose between the two of us so she left it up to us to solve our differences. And since then, we have managed to. I love him now as much as I love her. I can be myself around him like I can around her. Which includes walking around the house in my pajamas and messy hair, and he doesn’t judge me. At least I don’t think he does. He only judges me when he gets on his guitar and jokingly sings to me that “you smell.” We talk “girl talk” sometimes. We have certain things in common, like t.v. shows we like. I couldn't ask for a better guy best friend and husband for one of my best friends.
Happy Birthday to this wonderful guy and I hope he has had the best day ever.
