Congratulations, you finally made it. The transition to nineteen doesn't seem that relevant or monumental, but it is. You can trust me on this, I'm older and wiser, even if it's only by two months and a day. This is the year after that stage of "becoming an adult" but yet everyone is still skeptical on the idea. You know what I mean, that time when you say that since you're an adult you can get that belly button piercing you really want and somehow people always talk you out of it. Now that you're 19, you've got a year of independence and adulting under your belt that adds to your credibility. Here are 4 more arguments that help prove my point:
1. Maybe you'll finally make it to the adult table on holidays
Hopefully? If you're lucky?
2. Now that you're 19, you can do some legal things in some states?
I'm not sure what corresponds with where but you're 19, you can figure it out.
3. You can give advice to all the 18 year olds out there
"Back when I was your age..."
4. You've never looked better
You can also trust me on this. After being your best friend since 2nd grade and girlfriend since our sophomore year of high school, I can honestly say I've seen it all. Even through the braces and awkward school dances.
So I say, raise a glass of sparkling grape juice (because it's still illegal in this state) to your 19th birthday. I'm so happy I get to spend another great year with you.
