A lot of times, happiness can seem so far from our grasp that finding it appears to be near impossible. There's so much stress and negativity in the world that it can be hard to focus on all the positive things surrounding us. But maybe the key to finding happiness is to stop looking for it in temporary places and instead focus on creating it for ourselves.
There are plenty of ways that we can embody happiness in our own lives. In fact, multiple studies have shown that being nice to others can have a substantial impact on our mood. Showing kindness is such an easy way to feel happier, too. That said though, being kind isn't the only way that we can embody happiness.
Embodying happiness can also include going for a walk outside and enjoying nature without worrying about what's happening on Instagram or Snapchat. It can include writing or creating art that reflects the world as you see it. It can be taking time out of your day to do the things that you love with the people you love. Doing things like this to boost your mood will have a substantial impact on the way you go about your daily life, and you won't need to spend your time searching for happiness so often.
I'm not saying that this is a fool-proof plan, though. I mean, if it were, we'd all be happy all of the time. Of course, there are still going to be times where you're sad, or stressed, or anxious, but allowing yourself to embody happiness can at least allow the high points of life to come to you more often.
So instead of searching for happiness and ending up dissatisfied, try and create it for yourself. Go out of your way to compliment others who you don't know very well or spend some time on an activity you enjoy. I promise you'll start to feel happier the more and more you work on embodying happiness.
