When the leaves change color and the nights become longer its time to pull out your fluffy sweaters and collection of movies. It is finally October so binge-watch your fav Halloween movies is a must. So I will be listing my opinion on the best movies to watch during the spooky season.
Here's a list of top 20 movies:
The Shining, US, Get Out, IT, Nightmare on Elm st., Nightmare before Christmas, Monster House, Halloween-town, Hocus Pocus, Poltergeist, Beetlejuice, Scream, Practical Magic, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Craft, Child's Play, Carrie, Addams Family, Ghostbusters.
My favorite Halloween movie of all time is Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. In the movie, we are introduced to witch sisters who try to protect their family from evil. It's a romantic fantasy movie that I watch every year with my mother and sister. It has become a tradition in my family to watch it in the fall because of the storyline and music throughout the film. It is a movie that anyone can watch because it gets you into the Halloween spirit without being scary.
Speaking of Scary my favorite ghost movie is Poltergeist from the 1980s because of the classic appearance of ghost like horrors. Though the film isn't elaborate whatsoever it gives a simplistic method of laying out a plot line that enhances every aspect of the movie. Using great casting and lights the film causes audiences to enjoy a simple halloween movie without the additives of extreme animations.
A horror movie that is great is Nightmare on Elm st. because of it classic slasher like theme. If you watch this be prepared to jump due to the intense dream like deaths. Freddy Krueger comes into peoples dreams while they are sleeping to preform gruesome acts of murder.
A psychological thriller that I recommend is US or Get Out because of its plots and themes relating to current events in today's society. These two films produced by the same director enters the views mind and makes you think about everything going around you.
Each movie has a different feel of the halloween and an experience to have.
