Hallmark Movies Own Christmas, And That's Just Jolly

It's the day after Thanksgiving and I'm already flipping to the Hallmark Channel.

First of all, let’s be honest here. Most of us enjoy a good Christmas movie especially if it ends with a kiss under the mistletoe.

At least, I know I do.

There’s something about the familiar faces of well-known stars getting together onscreen over a romantic meet-cute. Throw in some jingle bells or a Christmas tree and I’m sold. It’s a time when snow is falling and hot chocolate is plentiful. What a perfect holiday to fall in love.

Tis the season to curl up in a blanket and swoon over a sappy Christmas movie.

This year, the Grinch isn’t the only one ready to steal Christmas. Hallmark is taking the stage. They created 33 new Christmas movies packed with our favorite cheesy lines, sloppy kisses, and picture-perfect Christmas décor. Not to mention, we are still watching movies released during previous Octobers. They have completely taken over the last three months of the year with their red-lipped protagonists and corny storylines.

The Hallmark Channel has been generating these cinema treats since around the year of 2011 and even before then they were making movies for CBS. They are dedicated to charming their viewers and it is definitely paying off.

How do they do it?

The network has pulled together 87 freshly made movies in 2017 and they are not afraid to tackle Christmas with some cheer. They have their cameras rolling for about three weeks making all these holiday films and the budget rounds up to $2 million altogether.

Usually captured in places like Vancouver or Montreal, Hallmark’s favorite country is Canada. There they can shoot movies with added benefits such as tax-breaks and nearby film crews.

The Hallmark Channel has mastered the art of wrapping Christmas in a pretty package and we’re running to our living rooms with a cup of steaming hot chocolate in our hands to indulge.

Even if you don’t enjoy their mushy films, I'm sure you’ve got a friend who does.

At some point you’ll find yourself sitting in front of the TV with a bunch of love-birds on screen. If you don’t like what you’re watching, then have fun with the people who are. Hallmark movies will bring us together this season and that’s why I’m excited.

Pop some popcorn with caramel on top and ask your best friend, your mom or your sister for a night of cheesy romantic plots.

Let the season of candy canes and merry days begin.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
