Successful people have a knack for utilizing their most of the time. They fairly know how to distinguish between their work and play to refresh themselves with fun and healthy weekend activities to give a bang on Monday morning. They create healthy habits and have a to-do list ready of "creative things to do at home" to unplug themselves from the digital chaos and have time to invest in themselves and their family into the week.

In order to attain a high level of fame and success, you need to put in more time and effort. Because, the modern career approach is – How to get more things done in less time.

Though a lot of people see weekends as a time to relax and hang out, successful people have different ideas of what to do on Saturdays and Sundays. If you have noticed, elite performers and high-level authorities pre-plan their week's schedule to attain achievement in all their tasks on time.

So, if you want to follow the same footprints to achieve name and fame, this blog post is for you. It talks about how these people spend their weekends to set a fresh tone for the next crazy and productive week.

1) Rise and shine

Waking up early in the morning is a part of the course from Monday to Sunday. It's wrong to assume that it's the weekend and we can be in bed till mid-day. Successful people wake up early in the morning because they know that time is precious and they can pack more for the day and feel productive rather than snoring and changing sides in the bed.

Team Cook, Apple CEO is said to wake up around 4:00 AM each day including weekends.

2) Read Books

You cannot eliminate the power of reading. Apart from staying ahead of what's happening in the world, reading heals your mind and makes you mentally stronger. It is like a therapy that recharges your mind with positive energy and expands your knowledge. You can even join a weekend book club, network with like-minded people, and discuss your favorite read to take home some cherished memories.

3) Indulge in creative activities

This is especially important for those who're stacked up entire week in the office work. Instead of thinking about what to do on weekends, indulge in any activities like cooking, gardening, crafts, game, sports, or anything that brings a smile to your face. It's therapeutic.

4) Practice digital detox

Practice spending some time in airplane mode and mute notifications over the weekend. Do not keep a check on your inbox. Ignoring these things will help you concentrate on doing the things you want. If for some unavoidable reason you need to peep in your phone, assign a dedicated time slot, and do not check it again.

The weekend is the time to disconnect with all the social media junk like Instagram and Facebook and re-connect with yourself to identify your hidden potentials and make the most out of it.

5) Clean up the junk from your mind

You might be aware of the meditation benefits – boosts your mental health, decreases blood pressure, improves sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, and more. Due to such an abundance of benefits, it does offer, it is steadily adopted in corporate culture.

Still not convinced? It even doesn't have to be meditation. You can just commit 15-20 minutes of stillness in your garden, balcony, terrace or just sit on the chair in the bedroom and see the difference. It will make your mind and vision clear and help you prepare to pump up for the next week.

6) Stay in shape

Exercise can be refreshing. It not only strengthens your body but clears up your mind to embrace fresh ideas for the upcoming week. Make sure to cultivate one spontaneous hobby as a weekend activity to help you stay in shape.

7) Do your preparation

What's the one thing that most successful people do on weekends? – Plan your week ahead.

Regardless of whatever you do or what activities you indulge in, make sure to spare some time to plan your next week ahead – I assure you won't regret it later!

It will be easier to hit the office and bang on with the work on Monday if you've done your preparations.

Final words

Just a change in one habit may create a big impact on the way we experience life. So, in order to lead a baseline for a happy and contented life, it is imperative to establish healthy habits. Consider adding one of the above-mentioned habits in your weekend schedule for continuous 21 days and then move to the next. Over time, you will lead a more successful and healthier life.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
