As a girl, I have always struggled with finding the perfect gifts for the guys in my life every holiday season. I try to gather any clues but unfortunately, there is usually nothing there for me to use. There have come times when I've become so desperate that I have to ask them, to which I usually am responded with, "I don't know, I'll be happy with anything," or even "I'm easy to shop for... I'm not picky." Us girls know this is a bold faced lie because their facial expressions when opening up the presents tells us everything we needed about how they felt about their gift. But fear no longer! Here are 25 presents to give your men this holiday season separated by the type of guy they are:
Nerdy
1. A DVD set of his favorite TV show or movie.
Even though we're in the age of online streaming, sometimes just having your favorite show/movie on DVD is really special. And if the service he uses decides to do away with it, then he knows he can still watch it whenever.
2. A Pop Vinyl character from his favorite franchise.
This one is super easy especially if you know what he likes. There are so many characters to choose from and they can be found pretty much everywhere.
3. The video game that he won't stop talking about.
If you know he really wants a certain game, get it for him! He'll be super excited because it's exactly what he wanted and you'll get bonus points for listening to what he has to say.
4. Merchandise from his favorite TV show, movie, or video game.
This one is easy because you really can't go wrong as long as you get him something he will actually use or enjoy. You should also check out Loot Crate so it's a gift that keeps on giving!
5. A subscription to a platform he could enjoy: Hulu, Crunchyroll, or video game subscription (such as Xbox Live or Play Station Plus).
Because you're getting a subscription, he will get so many gifts along with it like having hundreds of movies to pick from or hours of gaming. It is so overlooked but honestly amazing.
Sporty
1. Merchandise from his favorite team.
Try to get a little original with this and personalize some gear, even if it's just adding his name to it.
2. Tickets to go see the team he likes.
Not only is he happy that he gets to see his team play, you can either join in for some quality time or let him go with one of his friends so it's an experience that benefits one of his friendships too.
3. Equipment he may need if he enjoys playing a sport (i.e. gloves, shoes, headwear, etc.)
This one is very personalized to him because you have to think about what games he plays. Grab a nose plug and check out what is in his workout bag to see if he needs any replacements if the equipment is looking a little rough.
4. A gift card to the sporting goods store he shops at most.
Once again, this may seem like a copout but if he is picky, this is your best option.
5. A month or two membership to a gym, batting cage, or facility of his choice.
Not only is he getting one gift, but he is able to enjoy it for however long you pay for him! It's something exciting for him to do and you're letting him do something he might not normally pay for.
Outdoorsy
1. A pair of boots/shoes for the activity he participates in (hiking, climbing, hunting, etc.)
Just make sure you check his shoe size before you show up to the store...
2. A membership for a facility that could interest him (rock climbing, archery, firing range, etc.)
My friend just received a rock climbing membership for her birthday and it is her favorite thing in the world. She always knew she enjoyed doing it, but now that she knows what it is like to be able to do it every day, she is even thinking about renewing her membership next month. That's a great gift, in my opinion.
3. Some new accessories for when he is doing their outdoor activities (water bottle, backpack, travel notebooks, a waterproof watch, etc.)
No one will ever turn away some new and clean accessories. Think about what they may need but also consider what they want! Don't just buy replacements for things, get him stuff that you know he'll be super stoked about receiving.
4. Gear he could use for his preferred activities (snowboard, tent, skis, etc.)
This can run a little expensive but if you really want to shock him, get him something he's only dreamed of having.
5. If you're feeling a little more giving, you can help fund a trip to the outdoorsy spot of his choice!
Try to think of a place he's never been, like hiking at the Grand Canyon or climbing in a national park. It definitely will be a pricey gift but if you know you can give it, why not?
Artsy/Musicians
1. New art supplies (brushes, sketchbooks, pens, paints, art books, etc.)
If you know what he uses, stock up on it! My boyfriend is into graphic design so I know he'd be very excited about receiving some art books to inspire him... think about what your guy may really like too!
2. An online art or music class to let him enhance his skills.
It allows him to get better from the comfort of his home.
3. Make a package of supplies for your musician (picks, tuners, strings, pegs, new guitar straps, headphones, etc.)
Once again, a gift that keeps on giving.
4. A gift card to a place that can let him pick up more supplies he wants (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Guitar Center, etc.).
This is the perfect gift for your picky artist.
5. Tickets to a show or art exhibit.
This can also lead to a great date for the two of you if it's a gift for your significant other.
Fashion-forwarded
1. A set of hair products (pomades, hair wax, combs, beard wax, etc.)
Don't be afraid to look in their medicine cabinet to see what products they like to use...
2. A higher end purchase of a piece of clothing.
This could be a jacket, a pair of shoes, a nice sweater, or something that you know he's been wanting. I wouldn't necessarily just stick to getting him a bunch of small things... one big thing always feels super exciting in this area.
3. Gift card to their favorite store.
This one sounds like a cop-out but for so many men, it is the only choice. If you know the person you are buying for is picky, just let him choose what to get.
4. Subscription to a male fashion magazine (GQ, C for Men, Esquire, etc.)
A magazine subscription may sound very progressive but I've seen some really great ones. Even if it is just a cool coffee table book, it could be a real winner.
5. A new bag (messenger bag, backpack, duffel bag, briefcase, etc.)
We don't often realize that we need a new bag until it is falling apart so beat him to the punch.
I hope you found something that could help you out this holiday season! Try to get creative but don't get overwhelmed. If you put thought into it, he will appreciate it anyway.
