I can't thank you enough.

Hey loser,

I miss you. More than you can imagine. Going from seeing each other every day since the 6th grade to being 800 miles apart is a lot harder than I thought it would be. You have been there for me since the moment we met and I can’t thank you enough for always helping me through the hard decisions. We talk every single day and no one can beat our Snapchat streak. Life is always a little brighter when you are around. I don’t care how far apart we are, I can’t always count on you to be there for me.

Not many people are as lucky as we are. Usually relationships like this end when things happen, but ours hasn’t. We have made it through a lot and no matter how mad at you I get, you always stick by me. So, thank you. Thank you for dealing with me at my worst (and my best). Thank you for putting up with me when I was with other guys, and thank you for helping me through the hard times. Thank you for listening to me vent about my stupid drama… and not judging. Thank you for making me laugh so hard when I didn’t even want to smile. And most importantly, thank you for opening my eyes to the important things when I was clouded by my own ignorance.

I’d like to say we know each other pretty well. I know your favorite color and your favorite brand of clothing. You know my favorite shows and my favorite foods. We definitely know how to give each other the best presents. You know everything about me, and I know everything about you. We both know that we can’t date anyone without the approval of the other, and our boyfriends/girlfriends always know that we are nothing to worry about. They just have to pass our test and they are good to go. You’re always there to tell me who the jerks are, and I’m there to tell you who the “not good” girls are. We’re always there for each other, and I couldn’t have it any other way.

I hope you know that I want nothing but the best for you. I want you to make the most friends, have the most fun, and live the best life you can. Because I know how much you deserve it. I’ve seen you work so hard and I can’t imagine anyone who deserves the best more than you. And I know we don’t see each other as much we would like, but when we do I love that we pick up right where we left off, as if have never been apart. And I’m counting down the days until we see each other again.

So, thank you again for being one of the best humans I could ask for. Life wouldn’t be as bright without you. And I can’t imagine bonding with anyone other than you about the best shows, the best songs, and the best food (our specialty). I miss you lots boo and life is pretty lit with you.

XOXO

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
