A Guide For Traveling On A Plane As Told by A Traveler Enthusiast

Worth the jet-lag? Maybe.

I fly back and forth more than five times annually. You can say that the airplane is a second home for me. I get a little sad having to travel from one place to another, but now I can say that I've gotten used to it. It doesn’t mean that I am not sad anymore for leaving one place to another, but I would say that I am more excited about the experience I will have in the place that I will visit. I've also learned a thing or two about traveling on a plane that makes my life easier when I travel a long distance, here is some of them:

1. Wear comfortable pants

I always wear sweatpants when I travel. I used to wear leggings but some of my legging’s material is thin, and it gets insanely cold when I am on the airplane. Never use jeans or skirt because, you know why, it’s not that comfortable.

2. Bring a jacket

Because, Baby, it's cold up there!

3. Buy food before departing

You might hate the food on the airplane. One of my friends told me she hated the way the food taste and/or smell, so perhaps, buying food at the airport would help. Also, bring snacks so you will not get hungry throughout your stay since they might also not provide you enough food.

4. Choose the window seat

I know the window seat is my favorite because I get to see the world outside of my window from 36,000 ft. above the sky. I can also lay my head against the window. Other than that, I also would not be in the way of someone when they need to go out.

5. Bring your favorite books

Just to kill some time. You might not like the movies they have on the airplane too.

6. Bring your neck pillow

A neck pillow will provide support for your neck and will prevent you from hurting your neck while you are sleeping.

7. Get economy plus

I had to travel many times from Seattle to New York, and most times I couldn't bear sitting there with minimum leg room. With economy plus, you will get extra legroom, and it is not very pricey. It is not expensive compared to upgrading your seat to business or first class. It will cost you from $20 to $120 depending on your trip length.

8. Bring a single-use mini toothbrush

I usually use the Colgate Wisp Peppermint, the one that has freshening bead inside the brush. I can brush my teeth anytime and anywhere.

Despite the long hours, traveling is worth the pain. Also, the fact that each place usually has a different time zone, it is still worth the jet-lag. It is all how the place makes you feel that makes traveling not a burden anymore. Have a safe trip for now.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
