Medicine has become my biggest fantasy and passion.

Two years ago I wanted to be a preformer and be on stage. All I wanted was to be in the spotlight and act. But here I am two years later descending into my journey of med school.

My sophomore year of high school I started watching "Grey's Anatomy." Honestly I just wanted to know what all of the hype was about. After the first season I was obsessed with not only the show but with medicine.

I have watched every single episode of Grey's and have studied a lot of what the show offers. I have also studied what isn't accurate and what is.

While watching Grey's I discovered that the aspect of being able to help others by fixing injuries and illness interested me.

So at the beginning of my junior year I started in a health science class. In this class we studied everything from anatomy to the ethics of working in health care. Sitting through this class was the most exciting part of my day. Even though this was the hardest class on my schedule to me it was the easiest. Learning the anatomy part was actually the best part of the class along with the medical terminology.

Being able to go into a doctor's office or hospital and be able to understand what was being said to you. I have another year left of this class and I can't be more excited. This class was not only extremely helpful about learning about the body and health care, but it was also fun. Going to class every day and being able to be extra invested in what I was learning was a totally new experience.

I also started my college classes in my junior year so that I can be ahead of the game and get into Med school sooner. My first class was Psychology 101. This class helped me see the other side of medicine and helped me to be able to understand the patient's point of view. I am really glad that I was able to take this opportunity and be able to get ahead. By the time I graduate from high school, I will be half way to my associate's in surgical technology. This will be the first stepping stone to getting into the hospital while still being in school.

It wasn't until a few months into my journey when things really started to feel real. Just last month, I finished my first college class which was not as hard as I was expecting. The day after the class ended was when I realized that this was really happening.

Sometimes I just sit and think about my future and get excited about working in the medical field. Knowing that I will get to save lives is the best feeling.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
