The Greta Van Fleet Phenomenon
Preservation Of Moments

So, I've had many instances with this band called Greta Van Fleet. When I first heard of them, I saw the video for "Highway Tune" on Vevo. I heard their music many times on infinite loop while shopping at Main St. Jukebox. I remember even listening to From The Fires on my phone when I practically lost my mind when I was studying financial accounting I. I'm just recounting these experiences and how they connect to something I've just recently realized. I was meant to cross paths with Greta Van Fleet, because the number of occurrences is astounding. I had their album from when it was new but I didn't listen to it until about two weeks ago. I'm not sure why I waited so long, but I knew better than to delete before I never got to listen to it.

For as long as I've known about them, everyone considers them to be the next, big thing. Trust me when I say that they are. In today's musical landscape, true rock bands are rare. Greta Van Fleet is a treasure trove for rock fans. They've had comparisons to Led Zeppelin in sound, but it's pretty massive to get that comparison for a group of guys who are still practically kids.

Regardless of that, these guys are talented and devoted to what they do. It's an honor to see such a band today when all these kids just listen to what's in front of and they never choose to dig deeper. Greta Van Fleet is a phenomenon because they are breaking these barriers and they are making it into the mainstream.

Now, kids won't only see just pop and rap in their feed, but something different. A thing I should also say is that Spotify is flawed because there are awesome releases that are never listed on the "New Releases" page, but they come up on my "Release Radar". This is part of the problem, only very few genres are really featured. So many people aren't going to dig deeper, because that's a long crazy road of searching, but it's absolutely worth it.

As most of the world knows, Greta Van Fleet was nominated for 4 Grammy awards. They won 1 of the categories they were nominated for it. The true colors of these guys were shown at the Grammys when the time came up for "Best New Artist" came up and the nominees were announced and the winner was announced. Dua Lipa gets the Grammy. However, when Greta Van Fleet is shown as she is announced as the winner, they aren't mad or jealous. They're just genuinely happy to be at the awards, and they aren't even worried about winning. They're just proud. It's such a rare reaction, but you can just see how pure they really are because of this. They aren't the type of band who looks for awards. They just genuinely love what they do, and it shows.

Greta Van Fleet began as a band formed by three brothers and their friend and now they are a Grammy award-winning, genuinely fantastic modern rock band. They are trailblazers of resurrecting one of the great genres of music and surpassing expectations. They have fans and they have haters, and the truth is, the whole world is paying attention to them. Why you ask? Because they are a true rock band, and we haven't truly had one in a long time. The times are changing, and people need to get it together and praise the fact that we've been given a band on this level in the crazy world we live in.

Greta Van Fleet is a phenomenon, period.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
