Deja Vu! This whole season for the Packers has been an absolute roller coaster. We started out really well, going 4-1, to then losing Aaron Rodgers for half the season and going 2-5. Here we sit at 6-6 and it seems like last season, having to “run the table” just to make the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers will return after we beat the Browns, which is great after that terrible seven-game stretch, and it looks like the team just needs to win out in order to get into the playoffs.
I recently saw that the Packers have a 10% chance of making the playoffs.
We had worse odds last season and still managed to get in so I have hope. "Run the table" part two seems very much likely so it's time to buckle down Packer fans. The question a lot of Packer fans are asking me is, why do I have so much hope?
Well, let's get into specifics. First, AARON RODGERS IS BACK! This man must be pissed. A cheap shot by the Vikings knocked him out for months, and he looks like he's coming back with anger. His teammates have said amazing things about him in practice, and he's Aaron Rodgers! He is the best thrower of the football in NFL history, so he always gives us a chance to win.
Secondly, that rookie running back duo, Jamal Williams and Aaron Jones, are going off this season and it will only help the offense. Aaron Rodgers has never had a reliable running game, so if these running backs can continue to dominate between the tackles, Aaron Rodgers will be lethal. These running backs can easily pick up five or six yards on first down, which allows the pressure to come off of Aaron Rodgers.
Thirdly, the wide receiver group. This bunch of guys is special. Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, and Geronimo Allison are very talented receivers. These guys can get open when it seems like they can’t. They all have great hands and are amazing assets to this offense. Randall Cobb is so athletic that he can run the ball on trick plays too!
Lastly, is the defense. I know that a lot of people might not think that this will be an asset for us within these next three games, but hear me out. Blake Martinez is a boss out there. This guy will likely get into his first Pro Bowl this season and for good reason. It seems like every defensive play, he’s out there making the play. He’s fast, strong and athletic and can get the job done. Mike Daniels and Clay Matthews continue to have good years and it helps the defense. Damarious Randall is really looking good which helps our secondary. I know our defense does a bad job sometimes, but these stars have really turned it around as of late. I believe that if the defense can hold teams to under 24 points, our offense will be able to win every game.
While this is not exactly the same as “Run the table” part one from last year, this comes really close. The odds seem really slim and there seems to be little hope, but I know this team can do it again. Aaron Rodgers, The running backs, wide receivers and defense can all work together to make this story come to a delightful end in a Super Bowl victory. Always remember, GO PACK GO!
