Roommates are the best friends you have to, or get to (if you're lucky, like me), live with and see every day for about 4 months at a time.

If you have a good one, you better hold on to him or her and keep them close so no one can take them away from you. And if you don't have a good one, get one. The "roommate experience" can sometimes make or break your entire "college experience", not to mention that getting along with the person you'll be living with for at least two straight semesters is certainly a plus.

1. They like the same types of music as you, or at least they pretend to.

Sometimes you just want to jam out in your room and blast music. Sometimes you just want to lay there and chill with some music playing in the background. All of the time it makes it a lot better if the other person, or people, enjoy, or at least tolerate your music.

2. They don't judge.

Whether you go to bed at 8 PM on a Friday night, or you stumble in after crashing into the door at 3 PM on a Tuesday night, you want someone there for you who won't judge you for it, and who will laugh at you, not with you.

It will almost certainly get boring if you are both the same person, talking about the same things over and over again. Share your personal interests, learn more about each other, and it will help make you both closer.

5. They are down for whatever, whenever.

Whether it be a spontaneous weekend trip or ordering pizza 4 times in one week, everything is a lot easier with your roommate's support.

6. They understand personal space.

Nothing is worse than living with a person who has all of their belongings spread out all over the room and has no respect for your personal space. There is a difference between being messy and being rude.

7. You should be able to tell them anything.

Your roommate is usually going to be the first person you see when you wake up in the morning, and you're probably going to be around them a lot during the day, too. This is the

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
