I don't know about you, but I think grandmas are the best. They are people you can always go to for advice, they know you like the back of their hands, and always seem to have the best snacks. Whether you are the oldest in the group or you seem mature, here are the 14 signs that you are actually the grandma in your friend group.

1. Hugs are essential

Whether it is saying hello, goodbye, or anything in between hugs are the best way to show your feelings. You know it, and your friends have embraced it.

2. Food is your top worry

A major part of your plans revolves around food because it is essential for life and some of the best memories are made around a dinner table. If there is no food at an event, you may be busy that night.

3. You seem to be the wise one

Maybe it is because of your experience or the way you talk, but your friends tend to go to you for advice no matter how big or small. You have the appearance of wisdom and knowledge.

4. Most of the time you let things slide

Sometimes you just know that everything will be okay and that it never hurts to have a little bit of fun. Things that may upset the "mom" and "dad" of the friend group, you find hilarious and may egg it on.

5. Sometimes you lay down the law

Even though you tend to be a go with the flow type of person, you do know that sometimes your people need a swift kick to the rear and need your shining personality to get things moving. When you lay down the law, people tend to listen.

6. When you let loose, you're the life of the party

Most of the time, you stay pretty laid back and watch your friends act wild. Once in a blue moon though, you let your hair down and have the night of your life. Usually, it ends up being a legendary night for the entire group.

7. You call it as you see it

People never have to wonder what you are thinking. Every bone in your body is honest and you have the confidence to speak the truth. Your friends rely on your honesty whether it is how they look, people, or just in general. You have #nofilter.

8. You are known for one-liners

You never fail to come up with a funny phrase about situations in life. No matter what, it seems like the things you say can become an inside joke among your friends.

9. You can't seem to pull an all-dayer

Seriously, how can people make it through the day without a nap? If you make it through the day without your daily dose of nap time, then that usually means it will be an early night for you.

10. You don't have time for things you don't enjoy

You have learned through experiences that if you don't want to do something, you won't do it. You appreciate your time too much to mess with things that you won't enjoy.

11. Health is nothing to be bashful about

TMI is not a thing for you. You feel comfortable enough to talk about your own health and others to come to you about their health. You know that being close involves knowing all facets about people.

12. Your comebacks are one of a kind

This ties back to the one-liners, but man do you have a way with words. With a mix of quick thinking and a spunky personality, you are the queen of being savage.

13. Your joints tend to make music

Everyone knows the bone song, but you are familiar with the music your joints make. Whether getting up in the morning, stretching, or anything. Your joints pop, lock, and ache, and you wonder how much aspirin you can take to silence the music.

14. You know age is just a number

No matter how many years pass, you know you are young at heart and will continue to have a fun life. Growing old is required, but growing up is not.

Maybe your friends joke that you seem like an 80-year-old when you are only in your 20s, but trust me being the grandparent friend in the group makes all your friends say,
"thank you for being a friend."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
