It seems to be an unspoken rule to wear a white dress to graduation, but sometimes a plain white dress might need a little pizzazz. If you're like me and want to stand out in the sea of white that will be there on your special day, read on.

Texture

So maybe you don't want to necessarily accessorize, so why don't you focus on the dress part. You can choose from plenty of dresses that are lace, eyelet, ribbed, the list goes on. You don't need to add other pieces to your outfit if you don't want to and often times textured dresses are trending, so check out stores around you and stores online to find that perfect texture for you.

Pops of color

Obviously white is very very neutral, and sometimes it can get boring. If you love bright colors, or even pastels, then this is your time to work them. Get a cute pair of colorful heels, add in pops of color with fun jewelry and your outfit will go from basic white to cute and summery.

A dress with a different back

So this kind of goes along with the whole texture idea, but if you want to add some character to your outfit choose a dress that has an original back. Lace up backs are very popular and cute, there are also cut out dresses in the back as well as open back. The decision is really up to you and you cannot go wrong

Fun prints

Pinterest

You could do so much with a printed dress nowadays, and graduation is one of the best times. There are a ton of floral dresses, especially perfect for the season, and you could even get a dress that is part white and part another color and print. There are so many options to choose from but they all will look amazing.

Pastel dress

Pinterest

OK, this is kind of breaking the rules but where done right it could look tasteful and so darn cute. You could go with whatever pastel color you want, a few of my favorites are pink and yellow, and you will stand out but also look adorable at the same time

I hope that you have an amazing graduation and that these ideas helped you with your outfit! Take a ton of pictures, because I know I will!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
