With a new year comes a few new trends especially in the realm of beauty. And while some trends are worth keeping for a lifetime, others just have got to go.

Although this is a list of what I'd like to say goodbye to in 2017 and hello to in 2018, this article is not meant to be taken to heart. Mainly, it's a fun reflection of the 2017 year of beauty and a fun expectation for the new year.

Goodbye 2017

No More $360 Kylie Cosmetics Brush Set

Aside from the price of the brush set and the somewhat cheap in appearance packaging, I'm just a bit over Kylie Cosmetics.

What made the $360 brush set go from "not happening" to "simply outrageous" was Kylie claiming to be on the same level as other luxury brands such as Marc Jacobs and Bobbi Brown...it's a no from me.

This is one brush set that should stay in 2017.

Look At That Unconventional Eyebrow

Whether it be wavy brows, feathered brows, or sperm-shaped brows, unconventional eyebrows were created in 2017 and should, therefore, stay in 2017.

My question is who woke up one morning saying, "let's just make my eyebrow a little wavy here." Like did one of the legs on your table break in the middle of fixing your eyebrows or do you genuinely enjoy the look?

One Hundred Coats Of Absolutely Everything

I would just like to know how your eyelashes and lips have not fallen off of your face at this point.

For some reason, YouTube became obsessed with the "one hundred coats" challenge in 2017 whether that be a hundred coats of foundation, mascara, false lashes, face masks, liquid lipstick, etc.

Caring Too Much About What Others Think

Last but not least, let's leave the judgment in 2017.

It's totally okay to have opinions but don't not wear that yellow eyeshadow or blue lipstick just because of someone else. The most important opinion that matters in your life is your own.

Trust me, your skin will thank you along with the rest of society.

Although you may need a few layers of powder or lipstick depending on your skin and product, a hundred coats of everything is just ridiculous. Why not go with one, or an occasional two to three?

Wearing Blue Lipstick If You Want To Wear Blue Lipstick

If you were too worried about everyone else in 2017, take 2018 as an opportunity to just not care (in a good way).

Don't be afraid to celebrate the crazy and creative side of beauty. It's a lot more fun.
