Summer is swiftly coming to a close, and with it, some of my favorite activities will also come to an end. From enjoying the summer breeze to feeling the warm sun on my skin, I decided to dedicate a poem to what I will miss the absolute most about summer. This part of the year is where change can be felt; I believe it becomes more prevalent from my own personal perspective. May everyone enjoy the rest of the season, and may positive change come your way!

The summer came so slow and it felt like forever,

But now summer is fleeting, as if it was never here at all

It gives a goodbye shorter than ever,

Making way for the season of change, the season of fall

Oh, how I'll miss the breeze that seemed so sure to ease my thoughts

Sitting on the patio as I take it all in

And I'll miss the feel of the sun,

The warm rays hitting my skin on a walk through the trees

Ah, yes, the trees: their lush green and full leaves piling together

In a refreshing scenery to create a vast promise

A promise that summer will be here for a time

Yet, here we are: those very same green promises are only to be broken

As they transition from green to orange, red, and gold reminders:

A reminder that change is coming and summer only lasts a moment

The leaves that once stayed put in their green glory

Now return to vibrant arrays, falling to the ground to return again some day

Some scrunch up at the heat, the sweltering something to make

Even the most chilled disposition melt in content

But I will miss that assuredness

Yet for fall to approach, I too, feel ready to feel

The crisp whips of what is to come and to be altered

Although forced into the sunshine,

I hope all transitions during the season were good ones

For if not, may the fall bring about hopeful prospects to you

No matter the season of the year, everyone should feel fulfilled

In their search for happiness for themselves

Goodbye summer breeze, remember me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
