As I finish my final exams of junior year fall semester, I look bad at the good, bad, and the ugly of this semester. This semester pushed me to my limits by limiting my free time, but it taught me a lot of things. It taught me to focus on what is really important and how to prioritize and say no to things when I just need a break from it all when I felt my limits to what I could do were being pushed. Being in classes I did not necessarily like, but trying my best anyways. I'm not going to harp on the negatives too much because I did have a lot of little blessings this semester.
I tend to be quite shy sometimes contrary to what my close friends and family might see. In one of my classes, I had two French foreign exchange students. One Friday morning as I was doing my journaling with a cup of coffee in the cafe as I usually do I noticed these two playing pool and decided to step out of my comfort zone and say hello to them. Little did I know it was going to be the start of an amazing friendship with these two. Throughout the semester, we did double dates and did school work together. They were only here for a semester and to say goodbye to them a few days ago was a sad time. I don't like goodbyes anyways. Stepping out of my comfort zone that day brought me 2 amazing people into my life.
Moral of the story is no one prepares you for endings, but not all are sad. It is not a goodbye, but an I'll see you later. A lesson I learned that day is you miss 100% of the chances you don't take and I'm glad I decided to take a chance.
