James 1:17 – "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]."

God is the author and creator of all good things. He has seen before the foundation of the world, all things. He created the stars in the sky, the moon, animals, and trees. But His creation did not stop there, He also made us. We are His sons and daughters created in Christ Jesus unto good works as stated in Ephesians 2:10. There is something about this amazing God who loves to always bless us.

I wanted to speak to you today about the storms of life, about the enemies lies and about our own selves. God is the author of good, so when something hard or heavy comes in our lives; or when we allow the enemy of our souls to influence how we make decisions; or even when we allow ourselves to get in the way of God we must always remember how good our God is. Because God is the author of good things we must always acknowledge even the worst of circumstances as good.

There is no goodness without God. He is a Father who delights also in blessings. He loves to give us gifts. Gifts that edify the church, increase knowledge and allow for growth. These gifts are given to provide growth in ourselves and bring glory to God.

God gives new things. He gives new jobs, new beginnings, new opportunities, new relationships, and new mindsets. Our job as children is to acknowledge God within the gift and allow Him complete access. So today sons and daughters I want to encourage you, that despite your storms, the enemies lies and your struggles, God is going to give you something new. He is going to provide whatever He has promised, and when that promise manifests in your life, surrender it completely. Allow the God of your salvation to use that gift to edify the church, increase knowledge and allow for growth. Trust me sons and daughters, these beautiful new beginnings will bless you and those around you in amazing new ways.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
