To The Ones Who Are Scared Of College Changing You,

If you think college won’t change you, you’re wrong. There’s nothing to be scared of though because I promise you you’ll be better off.

In high school, there is limited freedom especially when it comes to classes. Of course, there's different clubs and cliques. To be quite honest, it seems as though you’re just trying to do your thing and get out.

College is so different than that because you don’t have to walk in the shadows and worry about cliques. No one cares if you’re in a clique or if you wear pajamas to class. You won’t be judged by everyone for being who you are.

This newfound freedom will open up so many doors for you. As soon as you realize no one is judging you; pointless things in high school no longer matter the better off you’ll be.

When you start to realize you can be who you are, you begin to explore that person.

You become friends with people you couldn’t picture yourself being friends with, you think of joining clubs and taking classes you didn’t think you’d ever consider taking. You end up taking a class about a subject you secretly always loved but never wanted to share that with anyone else.

You begin to develop a better sense of who you are. Once that concept is brought to light, you can’t get rid of it.

You will continue to grow and to shine. You’ll surprise yourself in college and you’ll learn so much about yourself.

It can be scary for sure but I swear you'll see that it's worth it when you start noticing the positive changes you have made.

When I first started changing I was scared because I didn’t want to break out of my shell. I soon realized that I was growing too big for the shell that I was in, it was time for a change. That's perfectly normal!

I’m so glad that I pushed myself because college has changed me so much already. I’m a much better version of myself, I’m only in the beginning of my sophomore year. It's the most freeing and uplifting feeling. I know there's more change underway.

Things can really change for the better, you’ll be so shocked looking back at who you used to be.

To those who think college won’t change you or to those scared of change, let the change happen because you’ll be surprised when you become a lot happier with who you are.

Change doesn’t have to be negative, this change is necessary for you to thrive.

Sincerely,

A Girl Who Has Been Changed During College

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
