Spring break is a life-saver. It always comes right when we're at our wits end, like a knight in shining armor here to save us from the dreaded deadline dragon. There are lots of little things that make being home for spring break great–here's just a few of them.
1. No more classes.
In a week or so, there'll probably be papers an exams to worry about, regular deadlines and the sort. But for now, you're safe. Classes won't find you here, and you can pretend, at least for a few days, that you don't have any homework.
2. Finally getting some sleep—in your own bed.
All beds are nice, but there's something very special about your very own bed back home. And if you're anything like me, sleeping in your own bed is the best feeling in the world. Not to mention, you get to sleep in for more than 4-5 hours for the first time in weeks.
3. Eating home-cooked meals.
Whether its lasagna or fresh-baked cookies, eating mom's meals at home is like a giant teddy bear hug for your soul – and your stomach. Good food is sure to wipe away all the stress of the semester.
4. Visiting all your favorite places.
Being home for a week means going to your friends' houses, your favorite coffee shop, the beach... All your favorite places are once again within your reach, and sometimes it can be nice to rediscover your hometown for a little while.
5. Being with the people you love.
Most importantly, being on break means getting to see all the people you cherish the most, from parents, to childhood friends, to aunties and uncles and more. Sleep, food and freedom are all well and great, but it's the people we surround ourselves with that truly make us happy. So enjoy spring break and make every moment count!
Enjoy spring break!
