Going Back To School Explained By Parks And Rec
Huffington Post

It's that time of the year when winter break comes to an end and all college kids retreat back to their home-away-from-home. Amazon Prime gets their wake up call from students ordering their books and parents get to sleep peacefully with their children gone. Its a love-hate relationship, the going back to school process. On one hand, you get to see your school friends; on the other hand, you lose the ability to have access to home-cooked (and edible) foods at all times. The show Parks and Rec describes the transition of returning back to school for the upcoming semester.

The packing

Saying goodbye to your friends from home

Eating your last home-cooked meal

Seeing your friends from school

The unpacking

Chill-abus week

The first weekend out

The first morning hangover

When you start actually having homework

The first test

Waking up in your bed and forgetting where you are

Having to go back to waking up early in general

When you're already sick of the dining hall

Going off-campus to eat food for the first time

Having to buy books and other expenses

When you start to run out of all the money you saved over break

The first time you get sick

Trying to motivate yourself to go back (or start going) to the gym

Feeling happy that you're back in your home-away-from-home

Good luck to all the students with their Spring semester!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
