Going Back To Curry College

It's time to go back to Curry College and it feels bittersweet.

Welp, vacation is over and now it's time to go back to Curry. Of course it will be hard, having to leave home cooked meals and Dunkin' Donuts coffee behind, but it's also exciting. It's a new semester with another schedule! Time to change things up, try new things you didn't have time for before. I am going to miss my hometown job, and driving myself anywhere I want, however, this semester I have time to join new clubs I didn't get to join before.

This transition is going to be the hardest because now I know the difference between living at home and living in a dorm. I know now what it feels like to walk across campus to get a meal versus getting up and going to the kitchen. Keeping all of this in mind I have to remind myself that being at Curry is a good thing. I am getting the education I need to start a career. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way about going back. I would love to stay home, work, and do what I want but I need to go to Curry.

Curry is my temporary home and I can't wait to see what is in store for me this semester. As bittersweet as my return will be I can't wait to see what I will accomplish this semester. Curry has so much to offer and I am excited to explore all it has to offer. Since I have a semester under my belt I know what to expect when I go back.

I need to rent/buy books for my new classes, but this time I'm going to wait to see which classes actually use the book they require. I'm going to make sure I go food shopping for my dorm because getting back into the habit of walking to the student center will be a challenge. I'm also going to make sure I bring a travel mug for coffee so I can make coffee in my dorm instead of going to the Student Center. I'm going to make sure all my clothes are washed before I go so I don't have to worry about laundry while I'm getting settled. Lastly, I'm going to get a good night's sleep because it's going to be a long day.

Transitions can be hard, but remember you are not alone. Everyone around you at Curry is going through the same thing you are. We are all in this together. What I love about Curry is the community. Everyone helps everyone and it's comforting. Everyone is so supportive. So let's have a great spring semester! I can't wait to make more memories at Curry College! Try new things, join new clubs, make new friends. Let's make this an experience to remember, shall we?! Are YOU ready to go back? We bleed purple! I hope everyone has a great semester! Let's go team Curry College!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
