He's the one you never knew you needed

I am currently in the process of getting ready to leave and go to Ireland for a ministry internship for about a month. As it has gotten closer and closer to leaving, there have been a lot of different emotions running through my head. From excitement to analyzing travel, it has been a journey, especially since I've known that I have been going since October. So the fact that I'm currently nine days away from leaving is kind of surreal. Yet, even through all of this, there has been one constant.

God has been in the whole process, the whole time from my mission trip there last summer, to getting the internship, to leaving in a little over a week, He has been there through it all. It is amazing how even something like funding and the worry that that could cause, God has a hand in.

That has been something that He has constantly been reminding me over the past few months and it has been a great reminder because I think so often we get caught up in everything that we are doing in our busy lives and we forget that He is always beside us even if we don't always know it.

Now I know you may be thinking why am I telling you this because people say it all the time, but it really is something that is important. From traveling to a different country or searching for a job, God is in the middle of all of it. Yet we all tend to get so caught up in the details, that we lose the big picture of what God is trying to do.

Personally, I was a little worried and stressed out about funding for my upcoming trip, but I kept constantly reminding myself that God is in control and if His plan is for me to go back and serve in Ireland, then He will make it possible because He has a plan. And even with going back, I'm going by myself which is going to be a great adventure, but still a little nerve-wracking, but continuing to think about the fact that God is there through it all and that He has a plan for me helps get rid of some of that worry.

God constantly blows my mind. We often fail, but He still prevails even amongst all our failures. He truly is the one we never knew we needed. God is the best friend, the parent, the person you need at that special moment. No matter what you are facing, God is always going to be there and He is never going to leave us in the dust. Every adventure we go on or every lazy day we have at home, God is our travel buddy and our sofa buddy and He always has our back.

As I face leaving for my trip and you face whatever you are going through right now; whether it be good, bad or in between; God is there for you no matter what. And I don't know about you, but for me, that is a pretty comforting fact, even in the craziest situations. So don't be afraid to ask God for help because He is always willing to give it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
