My Goals For My Senior Year

Every individual has different life experiences, one of those experiences being high school. High school has always been awesome for me; I really cannot complain. Now that I am going into my senior year, I feel like I have high school figured out now. I know what I enjoy, what my interests are, and who I like to hangout with; this year I want to shake things up a bit.

My senior year I want to step outside of my box. I am going to join more clubs, some that I have never even heard of. I will hangout with different people and expand my friendships. I'll choose to enjoy every single football game because this will be the last time I ever cheer in high school. I want to live differently than I have the past three years.

There is no reason why we, as people, cannot step outside of our boxes. It is a good thing to get out of your comfort zone! Wear what you want, even if it's not "approved" by the people around you. Be excited for spirit weeks and spirit points, because that is what high school is all about.

Many people have this idea that it is not cool to get involved, and I completely disagree. My best memories throughout high school so far are not the parties or the school work, they are the social experiences on campus. The more involved you get the more fun your high school experience becomes. Go to all of the football games, join new clubs with people you don't know, dress up for the spirit days, participate in the rallies and assemblies, do whatever you can to GET INVOLVED.

This year I am choosing to step out of my comfort zone and be a part of my campus, even more so than I already have. I will be one out of three captains on the varsity cheer squad, involved in American Cancer Society, I am going to work toward getting another bar on my academic letter, and even more.

We should be excited for this stepping stone. Each year is different, but we should make each year better than the last. I am looking forward to graduating with the class of 2017 and seeing what marks we will make and leave on our campuses.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
