I hear this phrase all the time, "well I don't get anything out of it, so why go?" or "I never feel anything." But you're not supposed to feel anything. Faith isn't a feeling and church isn't about you.
Worship is how we give to God. Not what He gives us. He's already given us more than we deserve. He paid the ultimate price with His own Son, Jesus Christ. And we refuse to go to church because WE don't get anything from it?
If you're so focused on what you take away from church, then you're missing out on your entire relationship with God. You've turned your focus towards the entertainment aspect of church. You'd rather sit and be entertained and walk away "feeling so moved" than be involved in a two-way relationship between you and Christ.
So try church again. But this time go and be present. Worship for Him, not cause it gives you goosebumps or makes you feel something. Worship because it's a privilege not an obligation. And go to church based on need instead of emotion.
