The fashion world can be a pretty tough world to get into. But once you get your foot in, you're in. I was a junior in high school, hanging on by a thread. I had terrible grades, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, and considering I had just moved into a new city, friends weren't something I had at the time. Meanwhile, my sister on the other hand was a stylist living in Huntington Beach, CA with her gorgeous surfer husband. She was working for a company that gets hired by clothing brands to run their clothing lines website. Everything from customer support, to photo shoots, to web design. She was there everyday to style the models for the photo shoot that day. Once I started home school, she thought it would be a good idea that I intern; that was my ticket into the fashion world.
The fashion world is this big, beautiful world full of Givenchy Antigona bags, Cartier bracelets, and Loubs; everyone wants to be in this world. Everyone wants to post that Instagram picture of their outfit, tag all these big companies, get sponsorship's, and rack up those thousands of likes. We all want that matte black Mercedes G wagon. But underneath all that glam and bougie items, is thousands of hard workers. Designers staying up late, sketching, catching red eye flights to Europe, going to back to back meetings. The fashion world isn't what it looks like on Instagram. It's as much hard work as any other job, if not harder especially since you're in the public eye. Basically, my point is that I'm in love with the fashion world and I'm never leaving. I may have lunch at the Cabana Cafe, drink a glass of champagne with my meal, and wear expensive clothing, but underneath it all, I'm still the humble person I've always been, and I always will be. I'm kind to every single person I encounter, and I plan to always be. Fashion for life. Now enjoy this gif that is an accurate representation of me and my life.
