5 Ways to Give Yourself The Self-Care you deserve this summer

It's time to take care of YOURSELF for a change.

It's about time that most of us take a moment to think about ourselves and our needs- rather than others. Too often people forget to take care of themselves and end up crashing and burning. Rather than letting things get to that point, here are five simple ways to give yourself some love that will hopefully turn into some life-long habits.

1. Stay hydrated

This is an awesome and super easy way to take care of yourself. Staying hydrated clears your skin, helps you get a good night's sleep, and helps you just feel better overall.

2. Develop a skin routine

Seriously guys, take. care. of. your. skin! Since I've started working a skin-care routine into my schedule I have noticed a huge difference. When your skin feels good, you feel good. You'll radiate with confidence by starting and ending your days with a fresh face.

3. Moisturize

Kind of along the same lines as the first two. Keep the rest of your body moisturized and keep that awesome glow.

4. Meditate

Take some time out of every day to collect your thoughts and relax. The world is a crazy, anxiety-inducing place and we all need time to get away from it all. There are tons of apps and YouTube videos that can talk you through meditations as short as five minutes- some are even specifically designed to help you sleep at night. Try them out until you find something you love!

5. Exercise

You love it or you hate it- but we all need it. Exercise doesn't have to mean killing yourself doing a billion sprints or lifting weights so heavy you can't move the next day. Go for a light jog, do some yoga, try some fitness classes at your local gym. You'll notice you sleep better at night and feel better through the day.

Don't get down on yourself if theses things don't stick immediately. Try incorporating one thing at a time to make it a habit and figure out what works best for you! Remember- make this summer about YOU and what YOU need.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
