My grandmother is my absolute favorite person.

When I describe her to people, I tell them how adorable she is and how I'm completely obsessed with her.

I'm so grateful that I've always been very close to her. I would do anything for her and I know she's always there for me, too.

My mother chose to make my middle name the same as my grandmother's first name. This, and the fact that I was the first grandchild, has allowed me to form a very special bond with her. When I was younger, I would have sleepovers at my grandparents' house. My grandma would let me stay up late, eat ice cream, serenade her with my favorite songs, and pretend to do her hair with her curlers.

She never complained about my silliness or the fact that I definitely messed up her hair as I played with it. I'm so thankful I have the grandmother I do. When you give a girl a grandmother, you'll also give her so much more.

When you give a girl a grandmother, you give her a role model.

I always answer the question, “Who is your biggest role model?” the same way. My grandmother has served as my role model for my entire life. She is determined, independent, and caring. She is one of the strongest people I know. She is beautiful inside and out. I hope that one day, I am able to be half the woman, mother, and grandmother she is.

When you give a girl a grandmother, you give her a supporter.

My grandmother is definitely my “Number One Fan.” Whenever she learns I have good news or a new accomplishment, she will instantly be proud of me. She won’t hesitate to slip the news into conversations with her friends, other family members, or even our hairdresser. It may be embarrassing at times, but it also raises my self-esteem and teaches me to be proud of myself too.

When you give a girl a grandmother, you give her a best friend.

I don’t know what I would do without my grandmother. If I could, I would spend my days cuddled up on the couch with her, watching her favorite sports team play, and eating ice cream. She is someone I can always talk to and will always give me good advice. My grandmother really is the best friend I could ask for.

When you give a girl a grandmother, you’ll give her so much more.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
