In this day and age, girls are constantly being compared to old cliches and are constantly being treated completely different than how they should be. It's 2017, so let's change that. Here are 9 things girls are tired of hearing.

1. "Is it that time of the month? You're having a lot of mood swings."

If you weren't acting so ignorant, maybe I wouldn't be having said mood swings. Crazy how that works, huh?

2. "You should smile more!"

You should probably stop talking.

3. "You should cover up. You're distracting boys."

I'm so sorry that John cannot control himself because he sees my shoulders. It's almost like everyone was born with them or something.

4. "What you're doing isn't very ladylike."

What makes something "ladylike" or even "manlike" for that matter? I've never heard of someone saying to a man that what he was doing isn't very manlike. See the double standard?

5. "You don't need all of that makeup!"

Sure, I don't. But I wear it because I want to, not because I love hearing you tell me I don't need to wear it all the time.

6. "Shouldn't you be in the kitchen making a sandwich?"

We're only a few months shy of 2018. Hasn't that joke been left behind in our middle school days?

7. "Do you need help carrying that? Let me help you!"

No, I'm fully capable of carrying a box on my own.

8. "Pink... ISN'T your favorite color?"

I hope you're sitting down for this because believe it or not, there are more colors in the world than just pink. Shocking, I know!

9. "Why are you dressed like that? You're pretty much asking for attention."

I could be wearing sweatpants and not be asking for attention. I could be wearing shorts and a tank top and not be asking for attention. The way I dress has nothing to do with how I think people will perceive me or what I'm wearing.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
