The madness is underway. Millions of people will partake in creating a bracket, most of which will be shattered by or before the second round of games.

Some of us will live through our prized team, some of us (cough cough, fellow Wisco Badgers) weren't so lucky as to get into the tournament this year. Either way, somehow, people think girls who like March Madness are a rare breed.

Here are ten things anyone of this so-called "rare breed" can relate to.

1. Making a bracket is not to be taken lightly

Making the bracket itself will take you a few hours, given you'll have to research and decide which risks to take in terms of upsets. After that, you'll probably end up changing a few of your picks up until the bracket locks, and you'll never feel truly satisfied.

2. You sometimes have to beg guys to let you into their bracket pools

Their reputation for having knowledgeable participants is on the line so they choose to doubt your abilities to create something that is mostly left up to chance. Queue the rattling off past tournament statistics they probably don't even remember to prove your worth.

3. Sports Center is your savior

With school, a social life and most importantly too many games to watch at once, it's hard to catch every single shining moment. In the sparse moments that no live games are happening, you turn to the high light reel to relive every glorious shot.

4. Bandwagoning becomes acceptable (and necessary)

As a Badger fan, I've been blessed the past few years with some magical tournament runs. But when your team aside from two lucky schools, inevitably gets eliminated before the championships (or before the tournament entirely) you have to put your faith in another team to truly catch the madness.

5. People who don't love a good Cinderella story are probably secretly evil

Who doesn't have a soft spot for the underdog? People you don't want to associate with don't associate with the underdog.

6. You have a love-hate relationship with the upset

You love a good Cinderella story, but your bracket takes a hit. The sports fan in me secretly celebrated when Michigan State lost to a 15 seed in 2016, but the self-proclaimed bracket master in me nearly cried when I realized I put them in the Elite 8.

7. Reminiscing on past tournaments is unavoidable

*Thinks back to the golden days of 2015 when Frank Kaminsky's dancing was on every American's television screen*

8. Your friends will see less of you until the buzzer sounds at the end of the championship

Spring hibernation is real. I'll be wrapped up in blankets in front of the TV instead of exploring the city until April.

9. You hear "I never knew you liked sports this much" a few too many times after explaining to the same people how much knowledge you have during football season

Girls who like sports exist. Be surprised all you want, but you would think after we've been over this ten times already, you'd remember some of my interests.

10. The more you know about the field-goal, the more you know about being a bro

If you don't know what a field goal is in basketball, google it. When you talk about sports with the guys, you get treated like one of the guys.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
