To The Girl Who Feels Stuck

Every turn you take, it feels as though a brick wall is blocking your path...

I've been in your shoes.

You feel stuck with no way out. Trapped in a maze with no map anywhere in sight. No one is there to give you clues. Nobody is there to tell you which way to go or how to get there. Stuck circling, over and over. Feeling as though your life is on a total stand still.

Every door you try to open, gets slammed in your face. You constantly search for answers, to turn up empty handed. With nothing to fulfill the questions circling in your head. You take a different path every chance you get, in hopes that, eventually, you'll find the right one to go down. Always ending with frustration, disappointment and worst, depression.

Stop.

Take a deep breath and just stop. Stop frantically searching for answers, stop searching for new directions to take, stressing yourself out to your breaking point.

Just. Stop.

I know, it's much easier said than done. But I was once there.

I was once in your place. Watching everyone's lives come together and falling right into place where they want to be. Fulfilling their dreams, falling in love, succeeding in all their goals. Leaving you as though you are falling behind.

You're not.

You're time will come too. When all the missing pieces fall into place and you'll feel content.

The pain will subside. But you must stop searching for your final destination. You need to pause and enjoy the journey it's taking you to get there. I know it can be heartbreaking, disappointing. But the journey, often times, is more satisfying than the final outcome. Sometimes, when you stop and enjoy the trip, you appreciate your accomplishment that much more.

But you have to stop forcing it.

You have to stop trying to make your life into something that it's just not meant to be. Nothing in your life should ever feel forced. Life is a journey that should be appreciated. It will take you exactly where you are meant to go. Life will not just give you all that you want, but it will not take you forcing things to happen either. With force, comes aggression, with aggression, comes sadness.

Life will guide where you want to go, if it is meant to go there.

"If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be, but baby just let it be..."

I know you're feeling lost, probably scared and confused. I was too. Many are, just like you. Everyone gets this way at some point in their lives.

More often than not, it can feel scarier, letting fate decide your future. But you cannot give up. Never throw the towel in. Continue to push yourself to be the best you can be. Don't push yourself to be something you aren't, just because that's how everyone else's lives have worked out.

Your plan, isn't going to be the same as everyone else's plan.

You are strong, you are beautiful. And you will get through this.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
