God will bring that right person into your life and they will be beyond patient with you. They will want to get to know you for you and be considerate when you're not ready to open up about your past. And they won't press an issue that makes you uncomfortable to talk about. You won't feel pressured to break down that carefully constructed wall, that protects what makes you you.

It's a risk to let your guard down and sometimes you are going to be wrong about a person. But life is a learning process, even when you think you have mastered something. You let the wall come down at your pace and that boy will patiently wait and hold your hand whenever you need a little extra help. Love is a very powerful emotion that can cause great havoc and that's the scary thing about it. But love can also cure things that you didn't even know that needed to be cured.

So guard your heart for as long as you want, because the right one will help you deconstruct it when the time is right. One day, all of the risk and precaution is going to be worth it.
