To The Girl That Stays In Her Comfort Zone

Sometimes it’s good to be uncomfortable, that means your pushing your boundaries.

Everyone has things that they’ve been wanting to do since a certain age. Everyone also has regretted not taking an opportunity when given the chance.

But let’s stop wishing we could do things and just do it.

If you want to get a tattoo, go get a tattoo. If you want to get your nose pierced, go get it pierced. You want to apply for an internship but the only thing holding you back is that you don’t want to get rejected, still apply for that internship.

What are you going to regret more, doing what you want to do, or choosing not to do it because you're afraid?

Doing things that you’ve wanted to do for awhile helps you connect with yourself and it helps you have no regrets.

Let’s say you want to get a tattoo of a quote that’s really important to you, and you go get it. If you didn’t like the experience then you don’t want to get another tattoo but at least you have the one that you’ve wanted for awhile.

Sometimes it’s good to be uncomfortable, that means your pushing your boundaries.

Pulling yourself away from things that are ordinary to push yourself to things that you’ve wanted to do is helping you connect with a piece of yourself and it helps you understand yourself as a person. It opens your eyes to the person you want to be.

In a way pushing yourself out of your boundaries helps you find yourself.

You don’t have to stay out of your comfort zone, it’s good to be in it sometimes. But sometimes your comfort zone can be the only reason holding you back and that’s not great. If you really want to do something but it’s outside your comfort zone, do it. If you don’t, you're going to regret it. You never know, it might become a part of your comfort zone.

When I joined the Odyssey, I was pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I never wanted people to read my writing. Now people read my writing all the time and I’m totally okay with that. Sharing what I write has become part of my comfort zone.

If you're too nervous or stressed or even scared to do something out of your comfort zone then ask yourself why you want to do it. It will help you decide if you should really do it or not. It also gives you a valid or invalid reason to do it or to not do it.

Not only is coming out of your comfort zone good but it helps you come out of it in the future when you have too.

I want to challenge everyone that reads this to do something outside of their comfort zone. It doesn’t have to be big, it can be little, but do one thing that you normally wouldn’t do. Don’t let anything hold you back.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
