Unpopular Opinion, But I'm The Girl Who Loves Winter

And I have zero shame in my fuzzy socks, cozy sweaters, and wearing boots way past boot season.

Everyone hates the snow and the cold and by the time February rolls around, everyone is ready for the temperature to rise and it to be spring. I love the warm weather and sunshine, don't get me wrong, but I'm one of those bundle up, sit by the fire while drinking hot cocoa, boots and sweaters, love snow and winter people.

As a kid, there was nothing like the first snow fall. It wasn't because I wanted a snow day from school - that was just a plus - it was the fact that the whole world looked like a snow globe. Even if it didn't stick to the ground immediately, it still looked gorgeous when falling. It was even better if you were able to walk outside in it and catch snow flakes on your tongue.

Driving in the snow is the worst but when you finally pull in to your driveway and gather your things and walk into the house, there's nothing like the warmth of your home. It's something in the wintertime that's so cozy because you're cheeks are rose and you're come in, even if your hair is wet from snow or your boots are wet, you walk inside and home feels so much more like home. You're out of the cold and ready to cozy up.

The world always gets so quiet when it snows. Next time it's snowing, head outside and take a walk or take your pup out or enjoy some hot cocoa or coffee outside. You'll notice how the whole world burrows away to hide, but that's when it's so peaceful. If you go outside, especially on a snowy night, you smell fireplaces burning wood for the first time or you hear the silence of the night. It's so calming because even though you have a little bit of a bite on your nose and your hands or feet might get cold, it's worth the peaceful and calmness of it.

Plus, who doesn't love cozy socks and sweaters?! Yes, being in the sunshine is great, but wrapping up in a blanket or bundling up before heading out of the house is the way to go. Don't forget the cute accessories and shoes you get to wear. Nothing measures up to a scarf that matches so many outfits, you can find one hundred ways to wear it.

So while everyone is mourning the loss of summer at the end of August, I'll be relishing in the fact that fall is here (you don't want to get me started on how much I love fall, also), and winter is right around the corner.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
