I just want to start off by saying, how dare you. How dare you bring negative attention to a LIBERAL campus, how dare you put in jeopardy my favorite place to be, and how dare you ask to make the campus a violent place to study.

Can we just reflect for a second on the one thing that makes our school so controversial and that is May Fourth, where men with GUNS, GUNNED down innocent students for rioting the Vietnam War. And you think it’s a good idea to draw more attention to our school with GUNS? I mean:

“Kent read Kent write Kent wait to be shot!”

Personally, I am offended by your graduation pictures and your cap. It’s distasteful and disgusting. The amount of media coverage you have brought to the campus of your pro-gun bullshit is an absolute disservice to our campus.I only wish the president could strip you of your degree and your ability to call yourself an Alum.

Also, are you aware of how many shootings there were in America since 2018? 101. What a horrible insult to the children of Santa Fe that lost their lives this year to someone who believed they should have possession of a lethal weapon. It’s a disgrace to the Florida Shooting, Columbine, Indiana Tech, Sandy Hook, I mean the list goes on and on. 9800 people have been injured or killed from gun violence this year. And you’re advocating to add to that?

Guns are the problem. They absolutely are. Japan doesn’t allow you to purchase a weapon until you’re 21, and you have to undergo a psychological evaluation, a physical evaluation, and full background check before you can even think about purchasing a weapon. Number of mass shootings they have had this year? A BIG HUGE 0.

I don’t care about your right to bear arms. It isn’t 1776 anymore, its 2018 the world is filled with crazies and we don’t all live thousands of miles away from each other with no electricity or independence. The time to change the law is now. Let’s stop advocating to put each other in danger.

Why would you even need an AR-10? What do you do with an AR-10? You’re going to gun down who? They certainly aren’t hunting weapons, so why use them to hunt humans.

The amount of hate I have seen for you on twitter is overwhelming. While I don’t agree with the hurtful things they are saying, I do believe that you are wrong. You are wrong to advocate for violence. You were wrong to carry that weapon on our campus, and you are wrong for using it as leverage to support the use of lethal weapons in the United States and on Campus.

So congratulations you have your fame, I hope it feels good. For the rest of your life you’ll be known as the idiot Kent State graduate who walked across campus with an Ar-10. And guess who gets to pay for your mistake? The entire community of Kent State.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
