I loved "Gilmore Girls" growing up and it was a show my mom and I would watch together. The more episodes we watched the more we realized we were a lot like them.

1. Our obsession with coffee

My mom and I have multiple cups a day and can't function without it. I definitely got my coffee addiction from my mom. Coffee is just always the one thing that will always sound good to us. We will never turn down a cup of coffee.

2. Most of our jokes are really only funny to us

We can sit there and laugh at corny jokes that no one else finds really funny but we know the other one will at least laugh. We may seem a little weird to other people but as long as we find each other funny that's all we need.

3. We look to each other for advice

My mom is my go to for advice because she is always honest and a good listener. She also comes to me whenever she needs someone to talk to and wants to hear my thoughts on anything she is having troubles with. We are always referring to each other on personal problems but also simple things like what to wear. I know she has my back no matter what and I will always have hers.

4. My mom has always taught me to be independent

Although, my mother is like my best friend, she is also my mother and will play the mom card when needed. She has always taught me to be independent and to have my own responsibilities. My mom has also always taught me to never change my future or college plans for a boy.

5. She is the one person who knows me best

I always say that I swear my mom knows me better than I know myself. I could go the whole day feeling down and no one will notice but my mom will take one look at me and be like "what's wrong." She will always be my go to and the one I will always want to talk to.

On top of the above reason's my mom looks very young and most people mistake us as sisters. She had me at 21 instead of 16. She was a single mom for a long time and raised my brothers and I on her own. I will always be very thankful for her. She is my best friend and my role model. Love you mom!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
