With the holiday season quickly approaching, many of us turn to material items to get out friends. I propose this holiday season to give your friends and family things you can't buy at a store. Sometimes, it truly is the thought that counts.
1. Consistency
Calling your mom every other day or not flaking on coffee dates with friends will speak miles. You will even improve your relationships by doing so.
2. Being a Shoulder to Cry On
Sometimes, life is hard. Everyone knows this. But being there for the people in your life is one the best things you can do without even spending a cent.
3. Honesty
The things we NEED to hear is seldom the thing we WANT to hear. Being honest with someone can help mentally steer them on the right path.
4. Loyalty
Standing by your friends and family when times get hard either emotionally, financially, or physically will not only be appreciated but will speak loads about your character.
5. A Cleaning Partner
Listen up, they might not tell you this but your parents would LOVE IT if you helped them clean the house. A pre-holiday party scrub down of your house will not only brighten everyone's mood but alleviate the stress off your parents. Let me tell you, this is the best thing you can get someone you love hands down.
6. A Chef
Cook your friends or family something to eat one night. Even the worst cooks can figure out some easy recipes. Even better? Use stuff that's already in the house.
7. Clarity
Everyone wants to achieve clarity even if they don't know they want to achieve clarity. Offer to sit down and meditate one day with your friends and family. When you're done, you can talk about what your focus was on.
8. A Gym Buddy
If you guys go to the same gym or offer free passes, offer to work out with your friend or family member. Sometimes the best motivation is to do it with someone else. If you talk instead of listening to music, you might forget you're even working out.
9. Pet Baths
No one likes washing their pets. Anyone who says they do is probably lying to you. Offering to give their pet a bath will alleviate loads of stress from their schedule.
10. Putting Away Laundry
Here me out, the worst part of laundry is actually putting the stuff away.
11. Love
Sometimes the best thing you can get for someone you love is to make sure they know you love them. Just saying "I love you" is one of the best things you can get someone.
