With Mother's Day approaching fast, our moms aren't far from our thoughts. People are trying to find gifts that scream "I love and appreciate you!" while also trying to keep a budget. The answer to that is easy, create something from the heart. Write a letter, surprise her at home if you haven't visited in a while, make her breakfast, make a card. Let her know how much you care and it won't matter what gift you give. So taking my own advice, I'd like to say thank you and I appreciate you to three very special women.
First, to my dear Aunt. You've always been like a second mom to me and made it known. You've been there through every heartbreak and you've always lent an ear when I needed to vent. You always joke about how I might as well be your child too and get worried like a mom over every little thing. Your little ticks help to show that you care. You're always there, no matter what. Thank you for every time I called and you shut down my silly insecurities with a show of confidence. Thank you for every time you made sure I was going to be okay even when you might not have been okay yourself. Thank you for being there and never quitting on me. I love you forever.
Second, to my mother-in-law. You've accepted me into your family with open arms and for that I will forever be grateful. You've also helped to raise a dedicated, caring and compassionate young man whom I'm lucky enough to call my husband. You haven't had it easy, but you've always tried to make the best of it. Your love for your family shines through and I think everyone can see that. I'm proud to be a part of your family and I appreciate all that you do and try to do.
Lastly, to my own mother. You've put your dreams on hold in order to raise us. You went to college even while raising three kids and still managed to support us. Every step of the way you pushed us to do our best; in school, in sports, in drama club even. Most importantly, you've always kept it real with us. You don't sugar coat things and you tell us what we need to hear, not what we want to hear. I know there are times when we don't see eye to eye and we argue but you're always there. Even if sometimes you forget to say it out loud, I know you're proud of us. I love you Mom.
You've all had such a large impact on so many peoples lives and I'm so happy that I have all of you. I'm proud of all of you for what you've accomplished and all of the adversity you've overcome. I wish I could find a gift for each of you that would encompass how much I appreciate all that you've done. The best I can do right now is to tell you thank you and have a very Happy Mother's Day.
