If I could go back to 2017 on New Year's Eve when my hopeful self couldn’t wait for the new year because “2018 was going to be my year!” I would tell myself that I was wrong this time. I’m being a little more dramatic than necessary, but I have watched the people around me also have the worst few months they have had in a while.

On a more positive note, there is more than half a year left and you can turn things around. It isn’t too late to fill your new years resolution of making 2018 the best year yet. These are basically my 10 moods for 2018 the past few months.

1. So at the beginning we were all pretty hopeful for what was to come, right?

Can I go back to this?

2. Halfway into January and we're all a bit confused

The year isn't going too well so far, what happened?

3. Somewhere in February we all probably had our first breakdown of the year

At least it's the shortest month though.

4. School or work started getting worse this year

If school or work has been going really well for you, well then most of us can't relate right now.

5. Towards the end of February, we're all drowning, but putting on our best "I'm fine" faces

We're just trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

6. The beginning of March was starting out pretty well

A new month gives us new hope.

7. Unfortunately, midterms came around too

On the bright side, it's over now!

8. After you have accepted your grades and survived midterms

Time to sleep for the rest of the month.

9. Realizing you still have to make it through finals

That feeling when you are SO not prepared...

10. Becoming emotionally numb because this year has been a roller coaster

It's okay, I promise.

Don't worry, summer is on it's way and you've made it this far, keep going!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
