Better known as the "Greek Freak,"23-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo is the current star play of the Milwaukee Bucks, but I'm sure you already knew that. The Bucks forward player is on his way to becoming one of the best players in the NBA, but how?
Giannis was the Most Improved Player back in the 2016-2017 season and recently just hit his career high of 44 points in one game. Compared to the average NBA player, Giannis is above them all, whether it's slightly or drastically.
He currently ranks as the second leading scorer this season with an average of 28.5 points in a game. Giannis is young and this is only his fifth season of playing in the NBA. In just his fourth season, he was the only NBA player ever to rank in the top 20 in all major statistical categories and he also leads the Bucks to the playoffs as a sixth seed. Unfortunately, they lost to the Pacers to make it to the next round.
How will Antetokounmpo do this season? Well so far, like stated above, he hit his career high in points but he also has his most field goals, rebounds, turnovers and much more all just in this season and it's only February. He also has secured a spot as a starting player in the NBA All-Star game as well this year.
Giannis has even said that he knows he can be better, faster and stronger and that just shows how much he'll get better in the next couple of years. Will he lead the Milwaukee Bucks to another playoff appearance? I think so. The NBA has never seen a player like him.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is clearly a legitimate candidate for this season's MVP and many more seasons to come.
