5 Steps To Getting Your Dream Guy

Maybe if you wink at that cute barista enough he’ll write his number for you on the cup.

It’s been a rough couple of months since your recent boyfriend (now ex) has dumped you. You thought he was perfect—he fit your dream guy quota and everything—but for some reason, he didn’t think the same of you and now you’re in a rut. What do you do?

NOTHING BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Did I grab your attention? Good.

That guy that you thought was “the one” was not him. Your Prince Charming is still out there. Who knows? He may be your next-door neighbor. But before you go banging on their door, here are a few tips to get you started.

1. Be yourself

I know, it’s cliché, but it works! There is nothing more attractive to a guy than a girl who is comfortable in her own skin. It not only shows that you are confident, but that you value yourself, and that’s sexier than any bra and panty set Victoria Secret has to offer.

2. Don't be afraid to make the first move

This displays confidence as well as drive. A guy likes a girl that can take charge and isn’t afraid to put herself out there, including getting his number.

3. The guy won't always be the go-getter

You’re at a bar, a club, a party. You have had your eye on a really cute guy across the room and he has yet to come over to talk to you. You keep telling yourself if he wants it, he has to come get it. You’ve made eye contact throughout the night and nothing. You’re about to leave and you panic. He hasn’t made a move and you’re freaking out because he’s so cute. The answer is simple: Go up to him. He will not bite. The worst that could happen is a) he’s actually gay, b) he has a girlfriend or c) he just rejects you politely. You never know unless you try!

4. Dating apps are not the entire answer

Yes, you can find your Prince Charming online, but it’s not the safest bet. Catfishing is incredibly common, as well as dangerous, and I highly recommend staying off that path. Tinder and Bumble are fun confidence boosts but they won’t get you very far 95 percent of the time. Go out. Socialize. But always travel in a group. Your friends will not leave you hanging.

5. Use your friends

No, I am not endorsing bad behavior. However, I am a firm believer in networking. You never know if your best friend has been chatting up your future husband at the gym or if your aunt’s best friend’s cousin’s nephew is just waiting around for a girl like you. It could be a country hit if you really think about it.

Be fun, be flirty, and thrive! Maybe if you wink at that cute barista enough he’ll write his number for you on the cup. Or call security…

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
