How to Get Through Finals

Finals are a difficult time for any college students, I completely get it, especially when the break is so close you can almost taste it.

Take a deep breath! Finals is a stressful time for everyone, but just remember to take a deep breath and to try not to freak out. When you are freaking out and feeling flustered you will not study. You are too busy freaking out and not studying. Take a deep breath, relax yourself to the best of your ability, and you got this!

Manage your time wisely! I get it this one is easier said than done, something about 5 test does not make it seem possible to manage your time in the best way possible. I am here to say it most definitely can be done. Make a schedule of all the finals you have to take and their time. Once you do this you can physically see when you have to do what, this gets it out of your head and by doing so you can see that you have to really focus on studying for something at a certain time.

Get a good amount of sleep! I am going to sound like every person ever for this one, but I am not joking around when I say getting a good amount of sleep really helps out. It makes you feel well rested and in a positive mood. Also, studies have shown that when you get a good night's rest you tend to do better on the test because your brain process what you have studied in your sleep. You will be tempted to pull an all-nighter to make sure you can get every minute of studying in that you can, but it actually might be hurting you instead of helping you.

Go to a place that you are forced to study! This one for me is especially important because I know that I personally could not get any studying done if I was at my house. I know that for some people they can study in bed; however, I recommend going to a place where the only thing that you can really do is study, for example, the library or a local coffee shop. Depending on whatever place you like best and can be the most productive.

Have a nice stress free morning the morning of the final! I find that I do best when I wake up an hour or two before the final I have to take that day. It makes me feel relaxed to have my coffee, a nice breakfast, and some time to think about what the day holds. I am also the type of girl who will go to sleep early that night and wake up earlier that morning to get some more studying in.I find that this makes me feel more clear and ready to learn. Also when you wake up a little bit earlier then you do not have to run around feeling stressed about getting to your test on time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
