How many of us have felt like the days just kind of pass us by or we're just trying to get by, or how about "working for the weekend?"
Well, quit it! Life is too short not to take in every moment, good and bad. I found myself living the scenarios above and when I stop and reflect on my life, it felt like it just flew by and I wasn't really living it. I found that when I didn't plan out my days and just went with it, they all blended together and I was going through the motions.
Now don't get me wrong, there are days that going with the flow is the way to go, but when you're life is a constant flow, it's hard for us to make an impact. This all ties back to intentional living, when you decide, "Okay today I am going to go to class, study for two hours, get coffee and read my book, and meal prep," it gives you control of your day. The other way to live to wake up after snoozing your alarm four times, drag yourself out of bed, and be reactive to the day. Being reactive leads to the blur of life.
Forget that! Be proactive and take control. It's like that saying goes, "Either you run the day or the day runs you."
The best way for me was to get a planner, colored pens, and highlighters. Now I will say, I love this stuff. I love to plan and I love to see what my week holds. I like to be organized I like being prepared. I understand that not all people are like that. Some people like to keep their day plans on their phones, computers, whiteboards, etc. It doesn't matter how you like to keep track of things, try planning out your days that way. You don't need every minute of every day accounted for, but a general idea of what your day has in store gives you more control and honestly, less stress. Taking charge of your day will lead you to live a happier, freer life.
So get whatever form of accountability you need for your days ahead and get going on taking back your life!
