1. Set up your Christmas tree.
2. Start a gift list.
It's best to get started on your gift lists early this year, you don't want to repeat the incidents from last year -- you know, when you mentioned to your mom that you needed a new hairbrush, but two weeks after Christmas realized that a new pair of shoes would be more long-lasting, and so much more satisfying to receive than having to buy them yourself.
3. "Deck the Halls."
4. Set up a Secret Santa.
Secret Santa can be one of the best give exchanges of the year, and with price limits, you can make sure you participate in a secret Santa that meets your budget!
5. Make a Christmas playlist.
6. Watch a Christmas movie (or 100).
"Home Alone" (1,2, and 3), "A Miracle on 34th Street," "Elf," "A Christmas Story," "A Charlie Brown Christmas"... the list goes on. Spend every day from now until Christmas reminiscing about the joy of the season.
7. Create your gift lists for your family and friends.
8. Buy all the seasonal foods.
Eggnog, apple cider, candy canes, pumpkin pie, turkey, anything in a red Starbucks cup -- honestly, could Christmas food get any better? And the best part is that bikini season is still almost six months away!
9. Volunteer.
While Christmas is definitely the best time of the year, don't forget that not all families are fortunate enough to hang stockings, much less fill them with presents. Take some time out of your Christmas Day to give back to your community. I can promise you that the warmth of your bed on Christmas morning is nothing compared to the warmth in your heart from volunteering.
