You wake up Monday morning.

Make you a huge cup of coffee and as soon as you take your first sip anxiety flows into your body.

The First Day of Class can be one of the most stressful days because of many things like trying to find a seat, understanding the overload of information in the syllabus, trying to find where you are on campus, and so much more.FDOC is one of those days that you're bound to be super stressed! Follow these tips to try to avoid some of the FDOC blues that we all get.

Take a pair of headphones with you!

Listening to your favorite song before you walk into a 200+ person lecture can sooth some of the stress. It can get very overwhelming when you have such a big class you can start freaking out right before you go in.

2. Go a little early to class!

By going to class early, you can sit in a spot you like and then see who sits near you! This is a very good way to make new friends if you are an introvert.

3. After each class go through your syllabus and highlight!

The syllabus really is a semester full of information in one packet. Whether the syllabus be one page of five, go through each page with a highlighter and match it to the dates in your planner. (Extra tip: give each class a certain color highlighter and pen for you planner!)

4. Pack a snack!

Trying to find lunch or a quick snack between your classes can be such a pain especially if you aren't familiar with the buildings. Packing a quick snack that you enjoy will take of some stress and even cure your hangryness.

5. Don't be afraid to ask for directions!

We all have been there where we can't remember where a certain building is on campus. Asking a random fellow student is perfectly fine!

FDOC is one of those days that you're bound to be super stressed! Follow these tips to try to avoid some of the FDOC blues that we all get.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
